Life since....

Marlin had his first chemo treatment on December 30, 2008.  We laughed, we cried, we prayed and we came together in faith and in love to travel this journey together.  After some very rough times through chemo and its side effects, a variety of infections and a surgery or two we got the good news.  On April 5, 2009 we got the news that the cancer was gone.  Little did we know that just a year later we hear the news that Mother had the cancer - only this time the journey would be short - so very short....

Movin' on down the road

Sorry it has been so long since my last post - I have been trying to get some R & R since the end of tax season. Let me see if I can catch you up.

Marlin had his last chemo on April 14. This was his last chemo and he had a very rough time of it. Mom & Dad had to bring him home for a few days and then he ended up in the emergency room one night. This chemo was the worst but hopefully for Marlin it will have been worth it.

We are pretty sure the cancer is gone and I will let you know when I get the results of the PET scan which he had this week.

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he recovers and gains his strength back.

We cherish all of you who love and care for Marlin.

Love, Genie

No more "cancer"

The most wonderful news - Marlin's cancer is gone. First and foremost we offer up our thanks to God and we thank each of you for your prayers and support. Marlin had a rough time after his last chemo and he has one more but after that - he can get back to life without "the cancer".

As we continue on this journey of life - let us all remember to lift each other up in thought and prayer. Whatever life brings each of us we can travel the path a little easier knowing that there are friends and family out there who care.

Blessings to you all as we celebrate the blessings of life - the blessings of this very special Easter season.

Our love and prayers, Genie, Marlin and family

Thankful Hearts

Marlin got his report from his "pet scan" today. His lymph nodes are looking really good and "clear". The doctor is very pleased with Marlin's progress. They are planning on doing two more chemo treatments just to be sure. We feel so very blessed with this news.

Thank you for your support and your prayers. I will keep you posted on Marlin's progress through the rest of his chemo.

We wish God's blessings to you and yours.

Love, Marlin & Genie & the family

Chemo #4

Marlin had his 4th chemo today. Mother said he is feeling good and in great spirits. The doctor says his numbers are looking just like he wants them. Marlin will have a pet scan later this week and then the doctor will decide how many more treatments he will need. Let's all keep on praying and sending Marlin our love. And lest we forget - thanks so much to Marlin's caregivers in Atlanta. We love you and appreciate you.

Peace!

Our old friend - Roni June

Marlin has had a good week - and that is news we like to hear. In
celebration of this good week I thought I would share a wonderful photo of an old friend - Roni June.

She sure can sing!

Blessings to you from Marlin and his family (and from Roni June)

Feeling Good

Marlin is feeling good this weekend. He worked three days last week. He saw his doctor on Thursday and the doc says he is looking good considering all the factors. He is a bit anemic but that is not unusual.

We can't say enough - thank you for your thoughts and prayers. God bless.
